Apostille
Apostille on Moroccan public documents and certified translations for use in the 120+ countries of the Hague Convention.
Since 14 August 2016 Morocco has been a party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents. For most destination countries that are also parties, a single apostille certificate replaces the long chain of consular legalization.
In Morocco apostilles are issued by the competent judicial authorities (for documents emanating from the courts) and by the provincial and prefectural authorities of the Ministry of the Interior (for civil status, notarial and administrative documents). We identify the correct authority, prepare the file, submit it and return the apostilled document – with its certified translation if the destination country requires one.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries accept the Moroccan apostille?
Countries that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention and have not objected to Morocco's accession. Germany, for example, raised an objection, so documents for Germany still need consular legalization. Non-member countries such as the UAE or Qatar also require legalization. We check this for you.
Do I need an apostille on the original, the translation, or both?
It depends on the destination authority. Often the original document is apostilled and then translated; some authorities also require an apostille on the sworn translation. We confirm the exact requirement before starting.
Can you apostille a foreign document in Morocco?
No – an apostille is always issued by the country that issued the document. For foreign documents we coordinate the apostille in the issuing country through the ABC Translation international network and translate it for use in Morocco.
How long does an apostille take?
Usually a few working days, depending on the authority and the city. Urgent handling is possible for many documents – ask us for a quote.
